Hi All,
Hope you had a lovely weekend! We had lots going on and I’m already looking forward to this upcoming weekend. We were up bright and early on Saturday. My sister moved into a new apartment a couple of months ago and we had never gotten around to finishing everything up. So, this was going to be the weekend to get everything finished.
We woke up and got the boys all packed up to head to Grandma and Pop-Pop’s so they could spend the day having some fun and we could get to work on the install.
We got ourselves charged up with some Starbucks before we hit the road. I try not to have a lot of caffeine, because it makes my heart race, but I knew that I needed a little bit to get me going so I went for a 1/2 caf.
Here are some peeks of the install:
-We had a massive gallery wall to install. We reused all of the pieces from her studio apt and added a couple more pieces.
This time instead of using the gallery wall in the living room we used it in their bedroom and filled the walls their headboard rests on with prints. I’m obsessed with the lightingwe picked out.
-We laid out a vintage runner and hung up everything like these cute hooks by their entry way.
-We also installed curtains in their bedroom:
-Artwork went up in their entry way:

We also installed lots of goodies in their living room. I will share those photos tomorrow!
Before we knew it was 6pm and we were starving! So we took a short walk over to Burger Heightsand had a bite. So yummy! If you are in the Washington Heights area I would totally check it out.
It was a long day! So much traffic on the way home!
On Sunday we spent all day with the boys!
We headed out to Home Depot to pick out some super cool new lightbulbs that I will also be blogging about either this week or next.
Then we went to Michaels, because Hudson wanted to do a craft. He found a craft and I found lots of must have items.
Aren’t these letters so cute! They remind me of something Anthropologie use to carry. I made sure to pick up a set for my family. They were on sale and only $5.99 a letter!
I also loved those slim gold letters as well.
Kinda obsessed with these gold frames:
Then we met up with both sets of grandparents for a lunch date. Yum!
We ended our day at home with a movie marathon. We keep getting sick this winter and poor Hudson was under the weather again with a sudden fever. I ran out to Walgreens to pick up kids Tylenol and found these cute blue and white ginger jars on sale for $9.99!!! Jackpot!
Hope you all had a great weekend! I will be sharing posts of my sister’s living room tomorrow! Stay tuned!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
You should have picked up the Drinking Stones too! Just kidding. I may have to run to Walgreens down here in Maryland and check it out.
Those ginger jars are a super fun find & love the metal + fabric letters…looks like I need to pop into Micheal’s very soon!
That gallery wall looks stunning (as so does the burger). I haven’t been to Michaels in a while, and now I’m determined to make a stop this week. Nice finds!
