Random question . . . do you pronounce your name “Ca-mee-la” or “Ca-mih-la?” Do you use any nicknames?

22 weeks pregnant and playing with baby names . . . thanks!

      Hi Cassidy,

My name is pronounced Ka-mee-lah. So for a nickname people either call me Cam or Cami. I find that people in the US will just use Camila or Cam, but people from different countries like to go straight to Cami. I always thought if I had used Camila as a baby name myself that Mila would be a cute baby name.

The only other way people pronounce my name is Ka Mill a and really emphasize the MILL part, which isn’t the proper name to say my name.

There is a British variation of my name that is Camilla and with the double L then you really do need to emphasize the MILL part.

      Hope that helps!

Thanks! It’s a lovely name, and I really like the “Mila” nickname.”

I hope you and your boys are feeling better!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
