Omg another weekend has come and gone where I had absolutely no downtime! Jon was away for a bachelor party and I had my sister’s Bridal shower on Saturday and a moms retreat on Sunday.
So, Friday night my other sister (she loves it when I call her this) Daniela came over and we put together all of our supplies for the shower. Lots of boxes! We were hosting the party at a venue where we had to bring everything in. I had napkins, cutlery, decor, etc all ready to go!
I also decided last week that it would be so cute to finally use my Silhoutte machine and gold vinyl to cut out Sip, Sip, Hooray! stickers to adhere to all of the champagne flutes. Umm mind you I had never used the machine before and thought that Friday evening was a great time to tackle it. Thank god for my sweet and amazing friend, Liz who came over to show me how it was done.
They came out super cute!

I will have have a full reveal of the party when I get the professional photos back. My amazing friend, Liz is also a photographer and she was sweet enough to come and take a million and one photos.
The shower was a full day event. I got home around 8 and had to get the boys ready for bed and then since Jon was away I decided to watch a girly movie I thought he wouldn’t appreciate. I picked The Fault in our stars and spent the last half of the movie like this:
Ummm I figured the movie would be sad, but I’m not a crier during movies so I wasn’t expecting to be like this from the middle of the movie till the end. There is literally snot running down my nose and to be honest I was using my PJ top as a tissue. I had to take a photo. I couldn’t even fall asleep after the movie I was so upset. Ah! I digress.
On Sunday I had a Moms Retreat hosted by the parenting co-op I’m a part of. So, I was up bright and early again!
I had also done flowers for this event so I needed to pack them up:
I did a grouping of 3 mason jars per table:
Oh I also chopped off my hair so I need to snap a photo to share that!
I went with a long bob. We shall see how it goes. I really like, but I’m still playing around with how to style it. I went a bit wavy and textured for the retreat.
The retreat was a day of workshops for busy mom’s, a brunch and a vendor section with people doing massages, make up trials, henna and much more.
It was hosted at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club. It was a lovely event and a great day. The club was really pretty, the food was amazing! I love brunch! I went with my sister, Ximena, my mom, and my two sister is laws, Jenn and JoAnn. We had a blast!

It’s going to become a yearly event so, if any of you live on Long Island you must come and hang out with me next year!
After the retreat we had a birthday dinner for my sister in law, JoAnn to attend. To say I was exhausted by the end of the weekend is an understatement. Even the boys passed out for the night at 7:30. It was bliss!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Camila! The styling at the event was amazing! I loved every aspect that you designed and it made the retreat even more special to be around such beautiful and fun decorations. Congrats on an awesome job!
