This year we decided that we really wanted to enjoy summer and not look back at in the Fall and realize we didn’t do all of the summer activities we wanted to do.
So, we have been spending lots of time outdoors and on the go these past couple of weekends. This weekend we headed out to Hampton Bays super early for a private viewing of Finding Dory!
Here we are in a snap they took of us before the movie. You should have seen us afterwards. Guys, it was rough. We got there 20 mins early and then there was 25 mins of pre-view by the time the movie started we were struggling. Ash couldn’t sit still and kept wanting to switch seats. Hudson didn’t want to switch seats. Crying ensued. We bought them both out and gave them a lecture and then things got a little better, but still so stressful. Everything is an adventure with kids.
A cute photo from the very beginning when all was good and calm:
Afterwards we headed out to Jon’s cousin’s home. Dan and Melissa live in Hampton Bays and have an amazing backyard that we got to enjoy. The boys loved running around and we all got to eat a great lunch.
After lunch they took us on a short drive to the beach! Of course, Jon always has fishing equipment on him so, he got to enjoy a little fishing.
We tried to get a family shot, but you know how it is with kids.
When we got home we wanted to see the newlyweds who had just arrived home from their honeymoon. Let’s just that they were missed.
They bought home lots of goodies from their travels. I love treats from different places so, I was the happy recipient of lots of chocolate!
Plus these adorable Captain, First Mate and crew hats! So cute!
On Sunday we got to snuggle up on the best daddy ever! We went to a BBQ at Jon’s parents house and it was lovely. Family was invited as well so we got see all of the daddy’s and enjoy some yummy food and amazing weather.
I was in charge of bringing a pasta salad and something for dessert. My go to effortless dessert is boxed brownies ( I always go with Ghirardelli) and then finishing it off with some powdered sugar and fresh berries poured over the top. It’s always a crowd pleaser and super impressive looking.
I ended the night with a Masker Aide mask. I have been picking them up at Target and they are such a lovely little treat.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
