Shield your eyes, because I’m about to share the horrible before shot of our laundry room yet again!
It’s bad, right? Sort of like a run down insane asylum meets a set from any of the Saw movies. I hated it, but never made it a priority, because it was just a laundry room and so many other rooms in the house needed attention first.
Then less than a month ago LG contacted me to tell me all about their LG SideKick™ and asked me if I wanted to try it out and share it with all of you! I jumped at the chance and then thought to myself how am I ever going to take photos of that laundry room!
So, I quickly got to work and in 3 weeks I transformed the space!
Much better, right? Emptying out most of the junk in there made all the difference. The previous home owners had two pieces of furniture in there that lacked storage so items simply got put on top of them. Cleaning up the space, changing the location of the dryer and adding a little color made for a whole lot of change!
I also finally ordered an ironing board wall mount because typically the ironing board is just leaning against a wall. Can’t believe I waiting this long to order one, because it’s amazing!
We had a window above that didn’t provide any light so I made a faux roman shade to fix the ugly window frame. Then we painted the walls, Dolphin Fin by Behr to lighten everything up. I added a lack shelf for storage and got rid of the clutter, by using two large glass storage jars normally reserved for kitchens with my laundry supplies.
One of the biggest changes was the sink. I loved that it was vintage and I even loved the original color. I was going to try to paint it white with black trim, but when it came time to pick out the paint I wanted something to pull out the blue/green shade from the rug and I went with a pretty metallic aqua spray paint.
The inside of the sink was a disaster so I used a tub and tile refinishing spray paint and it worked wonders!

Let’s get a close up of that amazing runner! It really makes the space. I wanted a little more pink so I added a small basket from TJ Maxx as my garbage can. Don’t worry I added a liner after the photo shoot.
Did you check out this beauty? The LG SideKick™ arrived right when we finished up the flooring. Jon is an amazing man that was able to figure out how to lift up the washer by himself and install the LG SideKick™ without ruining the tiles.
I quickly got to work using the LG SideKick™! Since it’s pool season I pretty much always have a batch of wet bathing suits ready to get washed. Seriously these kids are going in some sort of water on a daily basis. The LG SideKick™ is a dream, because I can use it for mini loads without having to use my main washer. So, I can leave that hamper of dirty clothes unattended for another day. You don’t need to run your main washer in order to run the LG SideKick™! It works completely separate! I can’t wait for my yoga class to start up again, because I know it will come in handy in between classes as well. Plus let’s be honest with two little boys that constantly spill and attract dirt it will be great when Hudson needs to wear that Iron Man t-shirt again to school that got trashed the day before.
I was able to do the whole reveal for around $200, which was amazing for me! Now for the best part! I have a LG SideKick™ to give-away! It’s compatible with LG front-load washers as far back as 2009, making this the perfect complement for any existing LG washer from the past seven years.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Wow! That looks like a dream, I’d love one!
So handy, would love one!
With two young kids I always have a thing or two to run I would LOVE this!
The sidekick looks really useful. Bing able to immediately wash things with stains would be amazing.
Love this whole project. Great job!
What a transformation! I love my LG washer and dryer and this would make it even better!
Two sets of laundry washed in one machine? Great idea LG! I’d love to win.
What a happy place to do laundry. Nice job! Our washer/dryer are in the basement which is a little dark. Your room is so bright. What sort of overhead lighting do you have?
I’ve never heard of this machine. Thanks for the info. This would come in handy with my 3 boys!
looks great!
I love my LG washer and dryer so I checked the Sidekick out at Best Buy and it looks awesome! This would make my laundry chores so much better and more economical. It’s not easy being green!
The sidekick would be great in our home. My daughter and I always have items we want to wash separately from the “boys” stuff!
Your laundry room looks so fresh; love the new sink paint and the new washer!
would love to use this for stinky workout clothes
Our basement laundry room looks just like your “before” – we could sorely use a laundry room update, as well as a washing machine one too! 🙂 I’d love to try the LG sidekick; it seems like a great idea!
That small washer looks amazing. It would be awesome to wash those stincky socks of a overly sweating teenager
What a great makeover!
Need the LG Sidekick in my life!!! Thanks for sharing:-)
I would love to own the LG Sidekick! My washer and dryer are 28 years old (purchased them new) and they’ve seen their better days! Love your blog and follow you on Snapchat too!
I need this! Have teens that think they have to wash their clothes when it isn’t a full load…like everyday!
Would love the LG Sidekick for all the dirty sportswear created by six kiddos!
I would love to win the LG Sidekick! With four daughters & plenty of laundry, it would definitely come in handy!!
Wow! Two loads at once is amazing! Thank you for hosting an awesome giveaway.
wow. I so need this! I do laundry 4-5 times a week since we have 3 kids and work part time on a handmade business that involves woodworking. Sometimes one of the kids just has to have a pair of play shorts or the husband has to have a work shirt and I would love to wash one thing and not a whole load so I can procrastinate just for one day. haha. This would be so awesome!!
Great job Cami! It looks great!
Love what you did with the sink! Very inspiring.
Wow, what a transformation! Now it’s such a happy little space! I would adore a Sidekick of my own…love my LG washer and dryer – they are definitely workhorses in my home, but the Sidkick would be so nice for washing delicates, unmentionables, and the inevitable 3-5 white pieces that always require their own load. Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
its such a nice high quailty washer that is the main reason and of course you can wash your clothes like your whites and other items you dont want washed in the big load i love this washer
The ability to do two different types of wash loads at the same time is magical!
So useful for delicates, gym clothes, even table linens…..
I noticed that you painted the pipes, junctions, etc. so they fade into the wall. Does this affect the utility of the plumbing at all when it is time for repairs?
Great job! So cute! Love the cute little container on your sink. Where did you find it? 🙂
It’s a little sugar container that I picked up at a store called, Flying Tiger.
I’d love this to quickly wash bathing suits and workout gear!
Such a big difference! And love the washers. Hope I win!
Just moved and we’re without a washer and dryer…would love this!!
That is an amazing transformation. I bet it’s much more fun to do laundry now. 🙂
With a preschooler, id love one! We also use kitchen towels instead of paper towels whenever possible, so I always have a handful of those to be washed. I hate washing them with regular clothes and hate running a full load for 5washcloth-10 sized towels. This would be perfect!
a beautiful update to a room that is overlooked but gets lots of use!
I’d love one for all the baby and sports gear that are sometimes too gross to mix with regular laundry :/
Looks so great!
That washer is amazing! And a lifesaver when you have little ones! There are so many times I need to do a small load from a messy job…this would be perfect!
What an amazingly happy laundry room you now have! I would love a little Sidekick. That would make getting those little loads done alongside big loads a real breeze!
Would love one to wash my workout clothes when I finish class at the Bar Method!
This washer is fantastic! It would really help me keep up with my family’s laundry needs.
Oooo Baby! Good loooking machine from a quality brand. Bring this to my home, please!I love the concept of a doing a little wash.
This is so awesome! We have an LG front loader also and with the kids and such an active lifestyle it would be perfect!
This looks amazing, I would love one of these in my home!
How fun! The room looks amazing, great choice in colors on that sink! xoxo!
Also, 2 big kids and allllllll of the pool towels! Need a great washer like yours!
I could use the bottom one for the smaller loads, workout clothes…dish towels. LOVE! What a great invention!
With three kids this would be awesome!! I feel like I’m constantly doing mini loads with bathing suits and dressier clothes. Thanks for sharing!!
I’ve got 2 little boys – no more explanation needed as to why I could use the LG sidekick 🙂
That little sink is everything!
