A while ago Jon and I use to run an art shop on Etsy. It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed working on abstract art pieces together. I would pick out the color stories for each piece and then Jon would make the actual painting. As time went on I decided to pick up a brush and realized that I really enjoyed it so, we started collaborating on each piece as well. It was a lot of fun. We sold original pieces on etsy and in our One Kings Lane shop and then also took on commissions! Our pieces now live all throughout the US. Some are in boutique hotels, part of store displays, offices and the rest are in personal homes. I loved doing it. Then we had Hudson and then Asher and then bam any time we had to paint was pretty much non-existent.
This past year I started to take on commissions and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s been fun to get back to painting and while it is a little challenging with my little guys I really want to do more. The boys love painting and I can normally paint while they are busy on their own canvases. Win, win. Of course someone always wants to lend a hand in what I’m painting and I tend to freak out.
So, I’m not sure how many actual commissions I will actually be able to take on and still keep all of my other balls juggling. I decided this week to set up a Society 6 shop. This way people can shop on there and pick up prints, framed prints and canvases and Society 6 handles all of the printing, shipping, etc and I just get to do the fun creative part of it!
There are many more on the Society6 shop and as I do new pieces I will update the shop with new prints! Any color requests? Happy to make some pieces inspired by readers!
