This week I got hit with a massive head cold and spent most of yesterday on some sort of sofa or bed situation. It did give me a bunch of time to work from my laptop and always find some gems to share with you all!
-Back in November I started doing a studio share nearby. It’s been great to get out of the house to work and the best part has been studio mates! I now have actual people to chat with during the day! The studio belongs to Jackie from Sincerely Jackie Stationary and she has become a great friend to me. Above is a photo from her bumble bee baby shower that was featured this week on Martha Stewart! There is a bit of twist with this shower! You see at 25 weeks pregnant, she was urgently admitted to the hospital with severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. The only cure for this is delivering the baby, but at 25 weeks that was a final resort. When the doctors couldn’t do anything else to control the situation Jackie had a c-section and delivered Baby Richie. He was 2 pounds and 2 ounces when he was born and he spent 99 days in the NICU. So, this baby shower actually took place after little Richie was already born. Jackie is a super strong lady and I will happily share that Richie is doing amazing! He is delicious! You can follow along on their adventures at @sincerelymangiolino on instagram.
-Out of Jackie’s pregnancy journey came a wonderful new product called, The Everyday Mother. The Everyday Mother is a journal that Jackie designed where you can track your newborns feedings, diaper changes, etc. For a baby in the NICU these are super important notes that your doctors and nurses will constantly ask you about. It’s also wonderful for any mom. I seriously still have pregnancy brain and my youngest is 2.5 years old. I forget everything! So, having a beautiful journal to jot down my pumping schedule would have come in handy.
-How adorable is this pillow! Don’t you think it’s a fabulous Valentine’s day gift. I think my boys would adore it!
-I have never seen a Moroccan wedding blanket with colored trim before, but I found this beauty and I think it’s perfection!
-Have you see these adorable espadrilles? I wish I could shove my feet into a girls size.
Happy Friday! Hope it’s germ free!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
