This coming Monday is Galentine’s day! Please, please, please tell me you have watched Park and Recs and know exactly what I’m taking about! If you haven’t then head overhere to get a recap on the holiday! Basically it’s a day to celebrate your favorite gal pals! You know the ones you text at all hours of the day to approval on an outfit or talk you off the ledge when your kids are driving your bonkers! Who doesn’t want an excuse to celebrate those ladies in your life! This coming Monday I have teamed up some of my favorite blogger gal pals to celebrate the holiday with a virtual brunch I will be hosting on instagram! You will want to check it out! I have a great give-away to go along with it plus you’ll want to see who was invited to the brunch!
If I was luckily enough to have these actual gal pals in my neighborhood here is how I would tackle a brunch for them!
I went with a black, white, red and pink theme with a heavy emphasis on the black and white!
For the centerpieces I used mason jars to make mini arrangements. Bunched together they looked like one big centerpiece, but at the end of brunch my guests could each walk out with their own mini arrangement.
Gingham or checkered whatever you like to call it is always a classic in my book. I love using it during Christmas, but it also worked perfectly for Valentine’s day. Everything came together when I found these striped heart chargers. Aren’t they amazing! They were a Michael’s find.
Pink and red is always a perfect color combo!
Adorable heart glasses from the dollar tree! I always hit up dollar stores when I’m decorating for a holiday. They always have the best stuff and you can’t bet the price! The sparkly hearts in my arrangements are also from there!
Dress up some orange juice with champagne for mimosas and finish up your drink with a heart filled straw and LOVE drink stirrer! Thank you Target dollar stop.
A super fast and cheap way to decorate a plain wall is crepe streamers. I just cut pieces and attached them a piece of tape so I had them all on one large piece and then taped that up to the wall. It was really fast, gave me a punch of color and texture and cost almost nothing!
For my brunch menu I kept things simple! Galentine’s day was invented by Leslie Knopes on Parks and Rec and her favorite meal is waffles! To keep in theme I went with a waffle bar. Guests could pick from Belgium or Chocolate chip waffles (Thank you freezer section at Trader Joes) and then fresh berries, sprinkles, powdered sugar, chocolate and nuts! On the side I also had whipped cream and maple syrup!
I went to town on my waffles!
As if waffles weren’t a sweet enough treat I also added some chocolate covered shortbread hearts (I’m addicted to these and can easily eat a box of them if you let me.) and a heart shaped cake. Again two finds from Trader Joes!
Wish I was able to actually host everyone, but a virtual get together will just have to do for now!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
