This week Asher started school, which meant we had two boys out of the house and it went smoother than I expected. No more tears from Hudson and since Asher was already familiar with Hudson’s old school he was a pro! Asher only goes for 3 hours, but boy oh boy is it hard to let your kids go for even a little bit of time. It literally felt like my heart was out of my body and I couldn’t protect them and make sure all was right with them. I’m happy to report though that they are thriving and I held it together. We are still getting settled into my parent’s house, but I was even able to get back to a somewhat normal work routine.
Here are my favorite finds from the week!
-Family photos are on my mind. I’m lucky enough to have my super talented friend,Elizabeth Kristin photograph my family. She is family to me and my kids call her Aunt Liz, which means we are all super relaxed when she shoots us.
I’ve been trying to nail down my outfit and here are some contenders:
I think this top is pretty adorable, but I’m not sure if it’s too trendy. Am I going to look back at the ruffles and one sleeve and cringe?
I also love the idea of this top. It’s a bit trendy, but classic black so more timeless.
This stripy and ruffled dress is right down my ally, but stripes are tough to photograph. So, I’m on the fence.
I really love everything about this dress. It’s such a pretty style and I love the colors and the flowers, but I don’t think it would be flattering on me. Had to share it anyway.
Do you have any favorites? How do you typically dress in family portraits? Dressed up or more casual?

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
