Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty. So chic and stylish, right? NOT! It was horrible, but we just couldn’t find the perfect table for the space so while the hunt continued we needed something. We went thru 2 different tables, which looked good online, but when they arrived the finish was cheap looking. Finally after a trip to a thrift store I stumbled upon on a vintage set that I had to have! Now I typically tell people never to buy a set, but I made an exception this, because I knew I would be painting the chair frames, adding a sideboard in a different style and with the use of tablecloths it wouldn’t be so much wood all of time.
The china cabinet had me at hello. I loved the curved glass and the pattern on the wood. I believe they call it tiger pattern.
I love wallpaper and luckily Jon is a fan as well. That is if he doesn’t have to hang it with me. We tackled papering the dining room in grasscloth and it was a feat. It’s such a heavy paper that it kept falling off the walls. We actually had to staple it up in some sections while the glue had time to adhere.
One of my favorite parts of this entire house is the window seat. I have always wanted one and while I ideally envisioned it in a bedroom, but I actually really like it in the dining room. It was fun to add a mix of pillows there and the boys love to hang out in there when they are done eating. There has been a lot of hide and seek in that nook.
I always love a little symmetry and I was able to attain it in this space by flanking the window seat with large faux bamboo mirrors.
Another favorite in this space is the bar cart. It was actually a vintage TV cart from the 70’s that I did a two toned paint job on.
It’s been the best room to entertain in I honestly wouldn’t change a thing in it.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
The 70’s are “vintage?” Yikes!
Haha. Funny, but true. The 70’s are in fact vintage.
I love how happy your design style is. The colors are delightful.
