We had a cold rainy weekend here in New York, which meant we didn’t do anything really exciting. We spent time at home playing with the boys and introducing them to Hocus Pocus. We did venture out to the mall on Sunday to let them run around a little. So, while the boys rain around and tested out fishing poles at the sporting goods store I got to sneak off and do a little shopping!
First stop was Nordstrom. I found so really cute tops and an amazing dress that would be fabulous for the holidays!
Isn’t it an adorable dress! It’s a bolder pink in person. The lightening in the fitting room was a little difficult to photograph. The lighting did help me find 2 gray hairs, which I proceeded to pull out!
Next up with this oh so soft top! It was the prettiest shade of blue. Again the lighting was hard to shoot in, but if you follow the link you will see the true blue. It was more in the teal/peacock blue family than a true blue. I loved the look of it.
I really enjoyed the front twist aspect to the top. It was my first time trying it on. Also found this cute sweater with a front tie. Then I found this bold front tie pullover, which made me happy as well. Plus I found a striped option. Oh and a cute t-shirt version! So many options!
I had holiday outfits on my mind so, when I saw a big velvet bow and metallic threading on a sweater I just needed to try it on. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. I actually thought I would hate it because it had a little peek a boo detailing on the shoulder, but I really liked it. It was super soft and would look perfect with faux leather leggings for a comfy yet chic holiday party look.
This was an cozy casual sweater that will totally help make your black leggings look a little more put together. This beauty is by Calson, which is Nordstrom brand. It’s currently not online, but hopefully you will find it in your local store. It was in the TBD dept. It had this really cut slit detailing in the back as well.
This fun top is from Halogen, which again is a Nordstrom label. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like, but I really loved it. The bell sleeves looked really nice not comical. I was a big fan of it. It’s not online at the moment so, hopefully you can find it in your local store.
After Nordstrom I went to check out Loft and a lot of the store is currently 50% off and if you order online you can use code MYSTERY40 for 40% off full priced items.
Here is what I bought into the fitting room:
I haven’t really been on board with velvet tops, but I liked this pink velvet top, because it was lighter and had cute detailing on it. It would look so pretty paired with leopard.
I loved the look of this faux leather wrap skirt, but it just didn’t work on me. I think it would work better with someone that has a longer torso.
I loved this mock lace turtleneck and actually picked it up to pair it with the faux leather skirt, but it would look equally amazing with a pair of jeans.
Loved this polka dot sweater with a cute detailing on the sleeves that had a little slit and bow.
Last top on the rack was this striped sweatshirt with a ruffled hem on the sleeve. It’s super cozy. Love the mock turtleneck on it and I’m currently rocking it.
So many fun finds! Mommma needed a day out!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
