With turkey day only a couple of days away I wanted to share two easy ways to take supermarket flowers in my case Trader Joe’s flowers and make a wow floral centerpiece or two! Make sure when you are picking up your flowers that you go with a variety of textures, sizes and color to make an interesting mix.
The first easy way to tackle it is with a low vase and tape! Super simple to do and it looks totally professional.
Use your tape to make a grid over the top of the low vase.
Once you have a grid you need to start building out your flowers from the border. I like starting out with the biggest flower in this case, hydrangeas.
Then add in your next flower and make sure it’s a different color and size.
Then continuing filling in the border with the next flower. Make sure you go with a different color and type of flower.
With the border having a good base of flower now it’s time to fill in the middle/center of the vase. To fill out the space properly I decided to go with the largest flower I had.
Then finish filling out the vase with the last remaining flower and fill out the rest with more filler flowers and roses.

For my second take I did a little thrifting and bought single glasses and mini bud vases to run the length of the table.
Then simply cut your flowers to size and mix up the different flowers.

So, fast and easy and you really need no floral arrangement experience to do it.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
