Let’s be honest sometimes playing with your kids just isn’t fun. There I said it! There is only so much I know about Minecraft to talk about and constantly battling super hero’s just isn’t always my jam. So, while I love my boys dearly I’m constantly trying to get them to do more arts and crafts type of play, which is right up my alley. They are not really into coloring in coloring books, but I can get them to draw on blank paper and they love any sort of wooden craft that they get to paint. Now as a child I loved going to any sort of plaster fun time place and getting to pick an item, paint it and then of course get it sprayed with glitter and a shiny finish. The boys have done this a ton at birthday parties, but I wanted to step things up and take them to an actual pottery place where the items will get baked in the kiln. I happily wandered upon, Little Art Studio, a studio space where you can paint pottery, canvas, wine glasses, etc. They host birthday parties and evening events, but you can also just walk in and paint! So, one snowy day we did just that!
Because it was a snowy day we actually lucked out and had the studio all to ourself. The employee that day told us had crazy it had been days before hand with people literally being elbow to elbow.
I swear they were excited to be there! Haha.
There favorite part was grabbing all of the paint! They went nuts picking out a different million shades.
We had a really nice time and then crossed the street for a yummy slice of pizza and amazing buffalo chicken roll at Angelina’s.
Since your items get put in the kiln you need to pick them up a week later! We headed there this past weekend and I love how my item came out!
So, cute! I figured I could use it on my desk with office supplies, but I could also use it for entertaining with appetizers or cookies.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I love places like that.
