Who doesn’t love when the Serena & Lily catalog hits your mail box. They always do the best job with their styling and photography making you want to live in the Serena & Lily catalog. Do you know what’s even better than the catalog? Getting to see one of their stores in person! We daytripped to Westport, CT this week and I got to check out all four floors filled to the brim with their goodies! The boys have been to one to many open houses in their day and since the Westport Store is actually a historic house that the boys were ready to move and told us it was their favorite house out of all of the ones we have seen. Haha. Do you think Serena & Lily would mind if we moved in? Of course I took a million photos to be able to share it all with you!
Upon entering their glossy blue door you are met with the prettiest cash wrap area I have ever seen. The striped wallpaper got my attention right away! Along with the stunning grasscloth wallpaper covering the cash wrap area. The salespeople are super sweet and welcomed us right away and told us that the store just got switched over to Spring so all of the displays were new!
To the left of the cash wrap area is a set of stairs and again I noticed all of the little details like the striped wallpaper used in the stair risers.
Detailed shot of the stair risers:
Fun artwork display on staircase wall:
Opposite the stairs is a stylish living room set up that my boys felt quite comfortable in. They actually asked me if they could take off their socks and shoes to get really comfy.
Want to introduce pattern into a space, but aren’t sure exactly how to test the waters? Wallpaper the backs of your bookcases or built ins. A great way to ease into and see if you like it.
Opposite the living area is a little window seat set up that I really enjoyed.
If you continued on the first floor there was a dining room and kitchen display area!
Dining chairs, dining chairs and more dining chairs.
A rattan lighting pendant in pretty blue shades instead of the traditional tan color.
Another look at that amazing striped wallpaper! Love it paired with the beadboard.
When you go up to the second floor you are met with this stunning striped wall! It’s all done with paint. I really loved the artwork they picked to go in this space.
There was also a large bedroom display, which Hudson climbed into. I told you he was comfortable in the house.
On your way to the 3rd floor you are met with this stunning gallery wall display!
The boys absolutely loved the last floor! How could you not!
Their favorite part was this cozy bed nook situation.
I fell in love with this coffee table. So many of my clients are young families with kids. They are always scared of all the sharp corners with coffee tables, but this one is actually woven natural materials and more kid friendly than wood, glass or metal.
When we were done with the top floor we realized we missed the basement since we were told their 4 floors. Downstairs was where the nursery decor was and upholstered pieces like this amazing chair!
The store is a decorators delight. I highly recommend a road trip to the Westport, CT location if you live some what near by. We all really enjoyed checking out and I really appreciated all of the little details that they paid attention to.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
