Oh guys! Please tell me you are dealing with Daylight savings as well as I am. I woke up at 8am and panicked because Hudson’s bus arrives at 8:10 and he was still asleep. A mad scramble to get everyone up, make breakfast, get the boys dressed, pack lunches and then dash out the door to drop Hudson off at school, because we totally missed the bus! Thank god for husbands that can get their act together way faster than their wive who was still in a fog that it was already 8am. Dear Monday, please go smoothly! Here is a recap of what we were up too this weekend!
A quick trip to Five Below and found these adorable rope baskets with gold threading and pom poms! This set of two is only $4!
I had a meeting at the studio in the afternoon so, I headed in a bit earlier with Jon and the boys to get some work done.
We installed a lucite shelf in the kitchenette area:
I styled some of the shelves:
I also bought some supplies to get a DIY project, but I strongly over estimated the boys attention span.
Making the most adorable Easter DIY with this colorful yarn!
Since the boys were jumping off the walls we headed out to our favorite lunch spot, Diane’s! If you are ever visiting Long Island it really is a must.
Random side note: Sometimes Jon likes buying cakes or pies here just for fun! No occasion just let’s eat cake today.
Then the boys dropped me back at the studio so, that I could have my meeting and they went fishing.
Here are some of the fabric schemes I pulled for them!
So pretty, right! I was obsessed with all of them!
I was pretty wiped after the meeting so, we spent the evening at home where I discovered the TV channel, Reelz and got sucked in to Brittany Murphy’s death and so much more. I couldn’t stop watching. It’s Lifetime meets TMZ meets Sword & Scale podcast.
On Sunday we tried to spent the morning relaxing with the boys and then went back to the studio to finish photographing some blog projects!
I always set up some new fabrics and wallpapers that arrived from Loudini! I love artist Louise Dean’s watercolors and was very excited when I saw she was starting to paint patterns for fabrics and wallpaper. I had to reach out and get memo’s to showcase them in my studio.
I’m all about the little design details and I loved getting the package with memos! A perfect notecard with a personal note from Louise, a cute little notepad, and all of the pretty memos!
You can see them all here. I think the Polly pattern has to be my favorite!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
