This was the last weekend before Spring Break and we were lucky enough to have Jon off from work on Friday, which meant our weekend started early! We hit the ground running early on Friday and headed into the city to take the boys to the museum.
Look at this handsome boys! Lately all they love to wear is sweatpants and character t-shirts. It’s all about being comfy for them. We decided to pick out their outfits on Friday and the look so adorable!
The museum was a big hit! I was afraid they would be great bored or tired of walking since we went without a stroller, but they loved it!
The dinosaur exhibit was the big draw and we made sure to hit it early on in the day. I’m happy to report they liked all of the other exhibits as well and there were not complaints or fighting! Win, win.
We were at the museum until 4pm and then headed downtown to Taiyaki for Japanese ice cream in fish shaped waffle cones! It was so delicious!
On Saturday we had a pretty low key day, but we did venture out to Home Depot to take part in their monthly kids craft! The first Saturday of every month is a different craft at Home Depot locations from 9am-12pm. The kids can do the craft there and they have all of the supplies or bring it home for later. The boys love it and it’s a great morning activity for us since they are always up so early! Only thing to remember is that you need to register before hand on-line.
We were helping Jon’s dad out with some yard work so, we had to pick up lots of supplies as well.
While we were there I happened to see this fun clam shell. I love seeing them on kitchen islands filled with lemons or you can use it as a planter. So cute! Great price point too!
On Sunday we ran a bunch of errands! I popped into Old Navy to get Hudson some new pants. He just keeps growing! I was able to swing into the women’s area and try on a couple of things as well!
I tried on their Rockstar distressed jeans to see how I like them. So many people recommend them, but I can never seem to get them to work on me. This mid-rise version fit me nicely, but I had a hard time with the distressing. My toes kept going thru the holes when I was putting them on! It always happens when I try on distressed jeans. So sadly I decided to pass on them.
I did love this Linen pink striped top and green drawstring pants. Loved the mix of pale pink with the army green.
How adorable are these linen polka dor sneakers! I wish they came in my size! Sadly they are only available for toddler girls.
Then I took the boys with me to the Benefit Brow Bar. It’s one of my little indulgences that makes me feel like a million bucks afterwards. I only go once a month and it’s $21. I highly recommend trying them out. They are amazing!
The rest of the day was spent doing a bit of work at the studio. Jon and the boys came with me and they went fishing in the pond across the street while I got a bit of work done.
What was on todays agenda? Getting a little painting done. I wasn’t sure what colors I wanted to work with so I picked up this big set at Blick so that I could try out different shades before buying bigger tubes.
All in all it was a fun filled weekend! Happy to get this week started!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
