Our summer has been filled with many activities for the boys. We have been trying to keep them busy with camps, trips to the library, adventures in NY and play dates galore! Playdates that I can make with my girlfriends are always the best because I can squeeze a little talking in, but let’s face it when your kids are around they want 100 % of your attention. So, I decided that this summer all of us momma’s should be hosting a playdate for ourselves sans kids! Goldfish are still welcomed but instead of juice let’s have some rosé and set a pretty table!
For this momma playdate I was inspired by our hydrangeas. They are blooming so beautifully this year and are an amazing mix of purples, pinks and blues. Very rich and bold! I love hydrangeas because their blooms are so big that you get a nice bang for your buck and if you have them in your yard then they are free!
For a floral arranging newbie they are also pretty easy to arrange. Number one tip is to use a vase with a small opening like this one from Juliska. Juliska is a store that is based out of Connecticut that has the most beautiful glassware and tableware items. They also have an adorable cafe in their shop. If they are ever in Stamford it’s a must stop.
All finished up and filler flowers are needed.
I stopped buying plastic/paper tablecloths many years ago. I found it better for the environment and cost wise to just order cloth tablecloths for parties. It’s always nice to have a colorful selection to pick from in my linen closet. They are actually really affordable. This pink tablecloth was less than $15!
One little trick that I love to do when setting a table is picking up tiered tassels on a loop and use them as napkin rings. They come in a bunch of colors and a set of 4 is only $9.99. I use them around knobs, on the tree at Christmas time and as napkin rings.
Perfect, right? I love how fun they look!
It’s all about the drinks and snacks during this party. I would ask each guest to bring a bottle of their favorite rosé so, that you could have a variety to do a tasting in the prettiest wine glasses!
For treats I would do a big spread of sweets, but thought it would be nice to have something savory like cheese and crackers on a platter and why not go for plain goldfish as a nod to our sweet kids that make us drink.
Now, just wait for your gal pals to arrive and enjoy a couple of bliss filled hours with having to answer to the name, Mommy!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
