Another week bites the dust! How are we almost in July? Craziness! This week just blew by with work and trying to keep the boys active without schoolwork. So, mommy and daddy school is in effect. In the mornings I have them doing a math game called, Prodigy, which they both love! Then we do a little reading comprehension and writing practice sheets from workbooks. We finish our “school work” by reading Charlotte’s Web. I’m reading them a chapter a day. After we read I ask them questions about it to see if they were paying attention. I thought it would be fun to do it together and watch the movie after. This is their least favorite part of the day, but I’m keeping it going! Then they break for lunch and in the afternoon they play on Tynker, which is a coding game that allows them to code items and upload them into Minecraft. They are really into this game! The afternoon is spent outside in the kiddie pool or playing Legos, board games, and iPad and video game time. Late afternoon before dinner is movie time and we all get together in the family room to watch something. So far the schedule is going well and the days are passing by with no complaints of, ” I’m bored! ”
No. 1: The prettiest Chippendale style planter for a song! It’s less than $20! Love it as a bright white, but it would look amazing with a colorful spraypaint finish.
No. 2: Paul Fuentes is a photographer and designer that loves a good dose of whimsy. He has a special Instagram account full of his photography work that takes me away on a virtual vacation. He also sells prints so you can have some of that whimsy and wanderlust on your walls!
No. 3 Lauren Conrad came out with a children’s clothing line and it’s so cute! This shirt is part of it and I love it! I picked up a couple of pieces for Sebastian and they arrived last week. Can’t wait to give them to him! Asher is requesting we get a portal so that can zap Sebastian back and forth between us and his parents. I agree! I need to get some squeezes in!
No. 4 Ok, so I saw this dress and loved it, but I thought there was no way it works with big boobs. The buttons and the seam right below the boob line. Not going to work on me, but I saw it in person and it’s adorable and has an elastic back so, I think it will actually work! I already ordered one to check it out, because I regretted not grabbing it during my last Target trip. I also spied this skirt with the same eyelet design and it’s a treat!
No. 5 Before we sold our last house we shushed up the laundry room and went with a peel and stick tiles for an easy fix. That was a couple of years ago and now there are so many more options like this peel and stick tile option that is 10 tiles for $10! Such an easy way to switch up a laundry or bathroom room especially in a rental. Crystal from Crystal Ann Interiors recently did it in her NYC bathroom and it came out so cute!
No. 6 Beach towels are like socks in my house. I always buy cute ones every summer and before I know it I’m down to only one. Did we leave them at the beach? In a car? I have no clue! I’m eying to pick some of these cuties for this season and hopefully keep them around for next year.
Happy Friday!!!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I love that you are having the boys keep up with school work. Although I hated that when I was a kid. My dad was a principal and would make me do book reports 😖
I toyed with book reports too! Oh my! I’m nuts, but decided to just keep it to a couple of worksheet pages and then us reading books together.
I know where your beach towels are! In our beach towel bin for family and visiting grandkids!. My daughter is a life guard at a local pool and the employees get to take what’s been left at season’s end. She only brings home cute ones!
Haha! I love that! I hope mine are in a happy home!
