Colorful Kids Bathroom Design Plan
I recently finished up a colorful kids bathroom design plan for a client and I thought it would be fun to share it with you! This bathroom is in the clients basement/playroom and will used mostly by their kids, which means we need things to be durable and have a dose of whimsey. The footprint is remaining the same and the glass-enclosed shower is staying put as well. The walls were going white and the rest was a blank slate!
Here was my take for a colorful kids bathroom design plan:
Easy ways to take a bathroom from cookie cutter to ready for friendly little hands!
Rainbow Wall Decals: add a colorful and non-comital whimsical touch with these cute rainbows. It’s also a nice way to see how you like a pattern on walls before committing to full-on wallpaper.
Art Work: Artwork plus friendly reminders which I constantly scream at them when they are leaving the bathroom! Perfection!
Towel Hooks: Loved this fun towel hook bar to add another little pop of color and happiness into the space. It would also be great in a kids room. I have something similar in the boys’ bedroom with some sweatshirts and baseball caps hanging on it.
Bath and Hand Towels: White towels would get destroyed with little hands. Go for a bold color instead like a sunny yellow towel set.
Bath Mats: One for the vanity area and one for the shower area. Mix it up with this adorable duo of a rainbow bath mat and this striped bath mat. Best way to keep the floor dry!
Flooring: Porcelain tile is perfect for high traffic areas and super durable. I love that there are now options with patterns like cement tiles. This tile gives you the look of cement tile without the patina (color fading and wear and tear) that will eventually happen on them.
Bathroom Vanity: A budget-friendly bathroom vanity with sink in a light gray. The light gray is just as neutral as white but adds more of a custom look to the bathroom. Plus it will also hide a little bit more dirt/dings than all white.
Brushed gold accents because every room needs a little sparkle:
-Loving this sturdy and classic looking towel bar.
-The centerset faucet gives you more room on the vanity and the brushed gold hides fingerprints.
-I tend to switch out knobs on bathroom vanities and I’m loving these gold and pink knobs.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
