HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

My personal design style has always been traditional with a twist. In the beginning of my design career I got hit with a lot of mid century modern clients which helped me flex my design muscles, but wasn’t anything I was truly loving. Lately I’ve been hitting my stride with clients and people are seeking […]

Pattern Play: Brick & Blue

Inspired by the colors in this stunning elephant from Ramble Market  I decided to play around with the colors and come up with a pretty fabric story you can use as a jumping off point for a room. No.1 I have been seeing florals with gray/taupe backgrounds everywhere and this is one of my favorites. […]

Pattern Play: Taupe meets Mint

I like to go a bit bold and colorful with fabrics, but I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. For this weeks Pattern Play I decided to go a bit neutral and show how you can mix up fabrics that may look unrelated but relate to a color story. Let’s pretend that the room […]

Pattern Play: Greenhouse

I’m loving this new weekly feature. Last week there was a request in the comments to use Malino fabric from Calico Corners as the main fabric. Here is my take on it: 1. My lovely reader Claire is dying to use Malino for curtain panels. 2. For those of you that don’t feel comfortable using […]

Pattern Play: Preppy Floral

In most cases purchasing a sofa for our living rooms eats up a big chunk of our budget. Due to this we normally stick to neutral sofa’s so that we can switch things up as the years go by. I did this in my own home and it’s something that I always recommend to clients. […]

Playful Patterns

In the past couple of years Persian rugs have had a huge moment in the interior design world. I feel like everyone has at least one in their home. I have 4! Most of mine are in the red, blue, yellow, color combo, but I love when I see them in bold colors. Imagine my […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
