Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

This weekend my baby sister turned 30! She is always one to joke about my old age! So, it was nice to welcome her into her 30’s and have her in my age group now. 30 is a momentous birthday and we decided that it needed to be celebrated in style! Along with my mom […]

Garden Fiesta Party!

pom pom clutch

This weekend we decided it was time to start potty training Asher. Ah the joys of motherhood. We have been discussing it with Ash for the last couple of weeks, but he hasn’t really been into the idea. On Saturday we decided to bite the bullet and just do it. So, we spent most of […]

Scenes from my weekend…

truly madly guilty

Ever since I was little I have loved to read. There is nothing better than picking up a book and getting lost in it. I mean so lost that you totally ignore your family and your kids and end up eating cookies for dinner one night because you didn’t cook. Ok, so that didn’t actually […]

Effortless Style Book Club!

diy brushstroke plate

One of my favorite pieces from my Easter tablescape was the plates. I have been wanting abstract brushstroke plates for some time now, but I have never been able to find them. So, when you can’t find them just make them! I picked up a set of plain white plates at Dollar Tree and then […]

DIY Brushstroke Plates

peach and cream centerpiece

I’m not hosting Easter this year, but I thought it would be fun to do a little tablescape of my own and give you a little inspiration if you happen to be hosting. I was really stumped for what to do this year. In years past I went with a colorful mix with a nod […]

Easter Tablescape

This past weekend I hosted my first cookie exchange! I have wanted to host one for years, but have never actually pulled the trigger. So last week I asked some friends if they would want to participate and then invited them mid week and viola on Sunday we had ourselves a party! Here is how […]

How to Host a Cookie Exchange

get inspired with our own home tour

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
