Trimming the tree…

Yesterday I headed over to check out Tobi’s blog and the Christmas spirit finally started to kick in when I set my eyes on her daughter’s playroom.

What a fun, joyful, and colorful place. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Tobi. Her work is jaw-dropping and I’m itching to save up my pennies and head to one of her design camps and learn from the master.

This tree resides in the playroom where they monkey around. Check out the barrel of sock monkey ornaments sprinkled throughout the tree:

If you want to inject a little bit of Tobi’s tree style into your home then here are some sources to help you recreate the look on a budget:

Such a fun look! Target (at least the one near me) has huge bins of really colorful ornaments for $2 – I bought a bunch as package toppers… but this would be a great style to recreate as well!

i love this! I want to do something fun, but I dont know if a tree is going up this year..with georgie still being trained..and he has a cone of shame on his head..and being alone 8 hours a day….i anticipate bad things happening to the tree. I got a mini tree from Trader Joes though

  14. Love the feminine decs. Reminds me of a much more tasteful version of my freshman year dorm room.

  15. I read Tobi’s blog too and I just was trying to imagine what it would be like to a kid and see that tree. I think I would literally flip my wig….that is if I wore a wig :)

  16. WOW. I want that tree! And that room!!!!

  17. Isn’t it amazing??? I was lucky enough to see it in person, and it is TO DIE FOR!

  18. Omgahhhh! I looooooooove that room! That tree would also be perfect if there are kids in the house. I’m sure they’d get a kick out of their quirky mom + dad!
