Light it up!

I love the way pendant lights look. That second brushed nickel one is really nice and your window is perfect for a nice hanging lamp.

Home Depot has more styles than I thought they would! I love the look!

  3. I was just on Pinterest last night looking for inspiration for over the sink lighting! We have a pretty nice pot light up there now….but I’d love to have a pendant. Thanks for sharing this!

  4. Cool. Do share your $5 find.

Stay tuned. I will reveal all on Monday after we tackle the project. Want to make sure it works before patting myself on the back. 🙂

  5. Beth Perullo says:

10 years ago, I asked an electrician if he could convert the existing pot lights over my island to hanging pendants. He said it couldn’t be done, which seemed crazy to me at the time. I should have “invented” some conversion kits back then, and made some money. They seem to be everywhere now. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

I can’t believe these are so cheap!! I love the last one on the right for your kitchen, however, I’m torn about the chain versus the straight cording.

  7. Kate Collins says:

Oooh – I can’t wait to see how the project turns out. We are moving to a new rental that has recessed lighting in the kitchen and i’d love to give it a go. For my personal taste, I would go with the nautical mini pendant light. I can’t wait to see what you choose.

  8. Tara says:

We have some totally terrible 80s track lighting over our sink. I’m saving up for a major gut renovation of that room (trust me, it NEEDS it) but I’m seriously considering doing a mini-redo sometime next year. I wonder if I would be able to DIY a transition from track lighting to pendants over the sink??

  9. carmel says:

Can’t wait to see what you chose- and your cabinet hardware is gorgeous!

  10. Bryn says:

Oh too funny – we’re doing the opposite at our house. We have a spot wired for a pendant over our sink but we’re converting it to a can. But we don’t have much room for a pendant there and we already have two pendants in the room! 🙂

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]

new-farrow-and-ball-paint-color-picks-for-my-house

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]

What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
