I don’t think gourd lamps will every go out of style. Grab any shelter magazine whether it be online or in print and I’m certain you’ll easy be able to find a handful at first glance.
They are classic looking and when they come in a variety of colors you get an undated added twist to the them.
The main man behind jaw dropping gourd lamps is Christopher Spitzmiller. The are gorgeous and hand made and one day I will own a pair, but for now they come with too many zeros in their price point.
Next up is a decorator’s favorite for a more budget friendly find, Robert Abbey. They come in a much better price point and are available for around $150-$250 depending on style and color.
Now for the person that doesn’t exactly need a new lamp, but just wants to pick one up and not feel guilty about it or take a huge hit to their wallet there is always Homegoods, but at times your local shop maybe sold out and you are left empty handed. gosh! I love the Robert Abbey orange ones,but I still can’t bring myself to pay 200 for a lamp! I wish the JCPenney ones came in orange!!
Just spraypaint the jcpenney version. I spraypaint lamps all of the time and then coat with some poly for a glossy finish.
This wonderful! I’ve had a JCP gift card sitting in my wallet for YEARS (there are none around me and so it has just sat there) and so I just used it to buy the ivory lamp. My total came to $3.79 – using the promo code and my gift card! I’m going to look for a brightly colored shade – likely in orange or yellow – to add a little pop of color. I have to admit that JCP lamp looks really good. Of course I too would love a Spitzmiller!

Thanks for the information. I went to JC Penney’s to score me a pair of these beautiful lamps I chose the cream lamps for my bedroom. They are so beautiful!!!!! I’m thinking about purchasing the blue ones also. I love them.
