HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

Hi All, Sorry for the radio silence these last couple of days, but things got a bit hectic here at Effortless Style. As you all know I was wishing and praying that I would go into labor sooner than later and on 12/14/11 I got my wish. I woke up at 7am that morning and […]

Early Delivery: He is here!

I’m always checking ebay for designer fabric remnants. From time to time I’ve been lucky enough to score some Chiang Mai Dragon or fabric from Lulu DK, but usually it’s small pieces that can only be used for a toss pillow or to recover a dining seat cushion. Last week though I hit the jackpot […]

Blog Spotlight: Aesthetic Oiseau

Hi All, Hope you all had a great weekend. I was hoping to have a more eventful weekend aka going into labor, but apparently this little guy doesn’t want to make an early appearance. I seriously go to bed everynight thinking tonight is the night and then…NOTHING. I’ve finally come to terms that this little […]

Weekend Recap: Etc

I’ve been a bit late to the gift guide party. I’ve seen so many beautifully curated options on other blogs that were a lot of my must haves so I didn’t think I had many additions to add to my own gift guides. That is until I realized I’m elephant obsessed and I’m certain others […]

Gift Guide: Elephants on Parade

I love to read so when it came to planning the nursery I really wanted to incorporate an area for books. Now our nursery is on the small space so in order to get the storage space I wanted for books I needed to think vertical and find an opening on one of the walls. […]

Baby Talk: It’s crystal clear

I’ve had this image saved on my desktop for the last couple of weeks now. {Photo taken by Tobi Fairley at High Point Market} Not only did I adore the kelly green campaign dresser and the color combo of green and blue, but the one item that had me hitting google was the movie poster. […]

Hi All, I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine started out with bang that I didn’t expect. It all began with crazy chills that had my whole body shaking to a fever and aches that had even my hair in pain. Not fun. I spent all of my weekend in bed fighting some […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
