For my sister’s 30th birthday all of my gifts were something in the decor realm. Shocking, right? 🙂 We are almost done decorating her apartment, but there were a couple of areas that still hadn’t gotten any attention. Her bathroom was a space that hadn’t gotten any love. She is lucky to be in a newly renovated apartment so, the bathroom is brand new, but it lacks character.
I picked up some pieces to give it a little love and personality!
Tip 1: One of the biggest focal points in your bathroom is your shower curtain! It takes up a large amount of space in the room and in NYC apts where bathrooms are on the small side it really is the main star of the space. I love this shower curtain. It’s bright and colorful and has a chic ikat pattern on it. It reminds me of the something that would be available at Furbish.
Tip 2: Colored towels! First off white towels look dirty super quickly! Even when they are not dirty if they have been washed a bunch they start to look dingy. Colored towels will fade as well, but they tend to look nicer for longer. If you have a towel rack in your bathroom fill it up with some solid colored towels. I love this set. It’s 6 towels for $45 and they are super plush and soft!
Tip 3: Non bathroom related artwork! There is no need to just fill your bathroom walls with artwork that is an illustration of a claw foot tub with some sort of French script writing over of it. I love finding new artist on etsy and my latest obsession is Lacee Swan. She sells the most beautiful fashion prints. The 3 pieces I choose for the bathroom revamp is You are a gem, Go Get Em Girl and Kate Spade Girls. I loved the positive affirmation ones! They aren’t cheesy, but it’s nice to read a little, “You go girl” affirmation like you are getting ready. There are so many other great prints to pick from in her shop plus she does custom illustrations! Hello family shot where everyone is actually looking and smiling! Haha.
You only need a few key pieces to revamp a tired bathroom or even a builder grade bathroom that lacks personality!
