I love a quick and simple DIY. Specifically one where the majority of the work is already done and you are just adding some effortless details to really step it up to the next level. Trader Joe’s has $10 boxwood wreaths and they are amazing. I picked up two the last time I was shopping and instead of leaving it au natural I did an effortless holiday wreath makeover on it.
It’s already stunning to begin with, but you know me. I love a little color!
So, I gathered some supplies from my house and came up with this: an old strand of Christmas lights that no longer lite up and 3″ wide grosgrain ribbon from my craft supplies.
Just wrap the strand of lights around the boxwood and tuck it into place with the wire frame of the boxwood wreath.
To hang simply loop ribbon through the back of the wreath on the wire frame and then use a second piece of ribbon to make a bow.
My door has never looked so festive and it literally took minutes to spruce it up.
Want to see what I did with the second boxwood wreath I picked up? Check it out on my instagram feed. I can’t pick a favorite! I love them both. So, hurry over to Trader Joe’s and pick one or two or three up! All they need is a little light misting of water so, even if you don’t have a green thumb you should be able to keep it going till Christmas.
