So glad that your weekend could turn around from Thursday and you had an amazing weekend!! First the card is amazing that Jon made you, so so sweet. If you dont tell the mystery soon I’m going to go nutty 🙂

I know I should not say this, but I am very jealous of all your new time to work on a job, company and career that you are in love with- this is the start of something amazing, and I cant wait to see what next step you take! xoxox

  5. Haven and Home says:

Hi Camilla! I am very behind in my blog reading so I am just hearing the news from last week. I have been in your exact shoes and that is how I got here. I know it is SOOOO scary but it will be okay, I promise. No matter if you hated the job it still hurts to be let go. But this could be the push you were looking for to really get started.

When I started with my own clients, which at the time my boss was COMPLETELY for, things changed and we had a TERRIBLE blow up. I cried all night because I knew things were about to change, and they did but I am okay now. Long story I will tell you later.

Anyhoo, I am glad you are feeling better and I am so jealous you and Lauren live so close together!!!! I can’t wait to see the pictures even if they will make me totally jealous!

  6. Blueprint Bliss says:

I agree with Sarah – your hubby is a real keeper! You know, when I failed the Bar exam, I felt like a real loser, but shortly thereafter, I found the design blog world, and it made me realize my TRUE love – design. I think you’ve a very similar situation…Strange what the world puts in front of you – all for good reason! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got up your sleeve!
    Take Care!

  15. citysage says:

Glad to hear you are turning the news about your job into an opportunity to grow and emerge from the experience stronger than ever! Sounds like a lovely weekend full of the love and support that you need 🙂

  16. katiedid says:

I am right there with you! The housing market in Sacramento is really poor at the moment….so design is a natural step in the process of decline. I was at a job as Senior Designer for the last ten years…but had been planning my own studio for quite awhile. The place I worked downsized literally from an office of 15 to two people: the owner and one assistant. The upside is it got me off my butt to really get my own studio going and it has been GREAT! You will love it if you can get those first clients in the door. The blog will help ALOT! Hang in there…you will find your way…and don’t hesitate to email if you need any tips or just a sounding board. Bloggers are great that way!

  17. Sarah Danielle: Jeune Marie says:

Your hubby is the sweetest!! That card is PRESH!!

  18. No.35style says:

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
