Hello All,
Hope you had a great relaxing weekend! I got lots accomplished during mine, but it wasn’t very relaxing. As you know my sweet Mom decided it would be fun to re-do my sisters room.
She is the baby of the family and the last one still living at home. I’m assuming that part of this room re-do is my parents attempt to keep her in the nest a little bit longer.
We had a very small budget ($500) and even less time. She comes home on Wednesday morning! So, this weekend was spent taking the room apart and trying to put it back together.
The whole inspiration for the room came from something that I found in Daniela’s room that she loves and reminds her of her year abroad.
I’m sure you now want to know where she was abroad. Well for that I’m leaving you some pics of our trip to visit her and take a guess and try and figure out where we were!
Picture 1: The week we decided to go visit her college roomies also came so below is a group shot of them. Danay’s in the middle with that orange top!

Picture 3: This was a tourist hot spot. Apparently if you roll a coin down his snout you are destined to have good luck and a return visit to this beautiful city!

*Author’s note: I call Daniela by her nick-name Danay. Not sure where it came from, but one day I just started calling her that and it stuck.
**Author’s note times 2: Total sidenote, but I’ve always wanted a nick-name and have never gotten one. Totally sad.

get inspired with our own home tour

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
I'm sure everyone has already guessed it…but definitely Florence! Was there last summer…wish I was there now! Excited to see how her room turns out!
Um< I would die to be able to see the Duomo every morning! lucky duck!

I love Florence, it was one of my favorite cities I visited when I was abroad in Madrid.
Pretty sure that's the Duomo in Florence. 🙂 i love italy. sigh.
OMG she was in Firenze!!! I stayed in NEARLY the exact same place when I was there for a semester! I had the best time of my life (besides now) there. Truly amazing, you're sister is molto lucky!

I've always wanted a nickname, too, but it's never worked out! The best I've been able to do is I have a few friends who sometimes call me "G," but I don't think that's the same. =(
I want to go abroad for a year! man 🙁 sad! I think that is so nice of your parents to redo her room. We all moved back in & they want us out, haha, so nice of them to want her to stay there! 🙂
I can't wait to see the progress on her room! About the nickname thing (since our names are oh-so-similar!) no one really ever gave me a nickname either, except for my parents, who call me "Milla". 🙂
Ahhh! I obviously love this post for 1 MILLION REASONS. 1. Daniela is one of my best friends 2. Florence is one of my favorite cities 3. I make a cameo in one of the pictures. 4. I love yours and Esperanza's taste so I can't wait to see how it turns out! Camila – this is SUCH a good idea, have fun I can't wait to see how it all turns out, she's gonna be so excited
Florence is one of my favorite places ever – so jealous she was able to live and study there!!! Such a great experience. 🙂

It's Florence? I love Florence but it's been so long since I've been there I didn't even recognize it. time for another trip!! Can't wait to see the room.
