I had high hopes for making one of them myself, but after purchasing the pattern I became a bit overwhelmed. With work, blogging and just being pregnant I didn’t think I had the time or patience to try and figure this one out. Plus my desire for just one elephant turned into an obsession of having a family of 3.
So what’s a girl to do? Plead with the shops etsy owner and see if I could get to custom make them for me. April was sweet as anything and said yes right away and even offered to do different colors on the banners with contrasting trim and making the baby elephant smaller than the plan originally called for.
Victory! She sent me a picture of the finished products last week, which I shared on facebook. (Make sure to like us if you want sneak peeks and little extras that don’t make it on the blog.)
Yesterday they arrived and I’m even more in love!
{Our soon to be family of 3! I hit my 30 week mark yesterday.}
{Daddy aka Jon Elephant}
{Mommy aka Camila Elephant}
{ Baby Elephant aka Baby Pavone}
So sweet. They are stunning and I adore them. I immediately told Jon I was never going to let the baby actually play with them. 🙂 Seriously though with their eyeballs I thought it was best to save them as toys for when he is older, but for the time being they will just look pretty in his nursery.
Best part of this post is that even though April mainly only sells patterns she is open to doing custom elephant orders just like mine above. Contact her via her etsy shop for a custom listing. The little baby elephant was a bit difficult so that size is not available for custom orders, but the Mommy & Daddy size is available for only $25 plus shipping!
I love these elephants – they are so adorable. What great additions! We also have elephants throughout our house (my favorite is a robin’s egg blue porcelain one). With the meaning of strength, honor, stability and patience, you can’t go wrong with more elephants!
That is it! I love your elephants! I showed my husband your post and he thinks these elephants are awesome. We are definitely getting one for our babe (that no one knows about yet).

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
