My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
So inspired and lovely!! I do prints, canvas, greeting cards and posters about fashion, you´r invited to see my work 🙂
By the way love your blog and follow you!! 🙂
Love the armchair!
Thanks Will. Purchased that chair years ago when I wasn’t in design and was on a huge over stuffed pottery barn kick and after a year or two I was over it, but it was pricey so I decided to get a new slipcover made to make it more “me”. I love it and due to it’s over stuffed nature it’s actually one of the best seats in the house. People fight over it. Especially my pup Moo who thinks it belongs only to him.
I had totally pinned that pic too!!! Your drapes are stunning! that is what I love most about your design and home, you take chances and they have such a wow factor!!!
Loving this trend of color. It really livens up all of our eco-friendly rooms. Your yellow curtains are beautiful!
hubba-hubba is all I have to say!! And boy do I want to see the rest of this room! Girl is ah-mazing!!
Gah…they are INSANELY PERFECT!!! I love them!!
where is your white etagere from? i love it!!
It’s a find from Pier 1. I was able to snag the store display for only $99 and then just painted it white. It’s from a couple of years ago and I haven’t seen anything like it there in since.
I LOVE your amazing room and the colors are sooo striking! I LOVE lots of color. My daughter lives in NYC and her apt. is very small and dark. Her colors are beautiful… magenta, beige and brown w/ white walls, but dark… hmmmm you’ve inspired me 🙂 I think we need a real pop of color! 🙂
I did go a bit color happy in the living room, but I’m loving it. My mom now feels like her house is too blah and wants color overload as well. Happy to be spreading the color love.
I love everything that you do. I really think we need to be best friends! haha
Ah Danielle we are already well on our way to BFF!
I love your little pink and orange ottoman in the background! I just snagged a pair of pillows in the same fabric and I’m obsessed!
Obsessed with fabric as well. Found pillows made with it on etsy, but then couldn’t find the mill that actually made it to purchase it by the yard. After some searching I found it and I’m so happy.
They look so great, Camila ! I love that you’re not afraid to change things up.
This looks great! Well done!
The curtains look amazing! Love the yellow. Totally makes the room…which was already pretty gorgeous to begin with 🙂
ooooh…those yellow curtains look great! i love them with the pale pink walls and the striped arm chair. they add a lot of drama and fun to the room 🙂
OOh Lala — should have been your post title! lol 🙂 I love those sunny yellow curtains, 2 die 4 🙂
Fabulous!! So so fab!! I love the ottoman in the window as well. Those drapes are dreamy.
I love the yellow curtains.I am hunting for good yellow fabrics for window treatment but haven’t found the right yellow shadow. What fabric did you use?
It took me a while to find the perfect yellow at a good price point, but I finally found this one: http://www.onlinefabricstore.net/outdoor-fabric/solid-outdoor-fabric/richloom-rave-daffodil-fabric-.htm
I’ve now used it in my own home and a clients and we both love it.
World Market did have yellow drapery panels like this in a beautiful yellow in what looked like a linen weave. They were very inexpensive ($15 a panel?)
I’m in love! Its so bright and happy, all ready for my visit to NY soon 🙂
beautiful! What a happy spot, really lovely!
It’s a “perfect pick!” franki
The yellow curtains really make the room, and add some sunshine. I just saw that exact color of yellow on some turning leaves on the way home, and was going to incorporate it into a color study tonight. Great yellow!
Love Love Love the drapes. It is exactly what the room needed. It was good before but now it really pops. I just hung my new white drapes…maybe I should die them. xo
you totally rocked this room (i swear i’m not a valley girl or ‘tween). when i first saw where you were going with it i did hold my breath (cuz that helps) but–WOW WOW WOW–truly fabulous!
Love the yellow combo with grey! Precious room and precious blog!!
The yellow curtain and pink cushion cover looks fabulous. But soemthing is missing in the sofa part which I am not able to make out.
I love how the spots on the pillow, the background of the painting in the back corner nod to the beautiful yellow in the curtains. Perfect tie-in! Love it.
Bright and cheerful for sure!
For custom drapery in a bunch of fabrics try curtainsmade4u.com. Love how bright and happy the room is!
Love the yellow curtains!!! I have super bright yellow curtains in our dressing room and they make me happy every time I walk in there. The walls are the same color as your walls too I think? (magnolia grandiflora)
Apologies if you have mentioned it previously, but would you mind sharing your paint color? Desperately seeking a soft shade of pink!
Love your curtains! I also really like the floral pillow in your before picture. Can you share the source?
I love the risks you take with color and pattern. They work so beautifully to create such happy spaces. Your yellow drapes and pink walls are wonderful, as is your choice of drapery hardware. Kudos to a job well done!
