Throughout college I worked at Nordstrom. I started out in kids shoes, then moved to Gift Gallery (Home) and finally finished up at Infants and Toddlers. No matter what department I was in the most important time of the year was Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. Loyal customers planned their vacations around the date. It was always a super busy time at the store where the AC was raised up super high to make customers think of fall and happily try on fall and winter clothing. Unlike other sales during the Anniversary sale you are getting brand new pieces that are slashed between 40-60 percent and then after 3 weeks they go up to their normal prices. As an employee I would always use that time to purchase all of my back to school clothes. I use to also get my discount on top of the crazy sale. Ah! The good old days.
The sale starts today and if I can manage to sneak away from the boys for a little bit I’m heading right over to try on some things. I did a little searching already and here is what has caught my eye.
I have a coat addiction. I just love them and I found so many good ones on sale.
I’m certain the striped wrap coat will become a daily wear for me once the weather gets cold. I love that it looks chic, but is still cozy looking.
The colorblock knit fringe kimono always looks like something I would have on constant rotation. I could literally slip it on over leggings and plain long sleeved tee and look totally put together. I could also belt it for more shape. Love.
Here on the east coast puffy winter coats are a necessity and I’m never excited to pick one up. They are always so ugly and puffy and marshmallow looking, but when I saw this beauty I stopped in my tracks. Love the chic collar and the leather sash. Amazing! Bring on the snow!
I’m all about the cross body handbag. When I go out with both kids it’s so nice to just swing it on and be hands free. I actually don’t own a black one currently, so it would be great to add this one to my rotation.
I love a good stud earring and these by Kate Spade are adorable. Love the glitter tone in them, which would dress up any outfit, but the square shape is still causal enough to wear with jeans. Plus they are only $20.90!!! A great holiday gift for girlfriends, sisters, moms, etc.
So, I have seen this open toe sling back look popping up and I have been dying to try them out. I love the idea of a chunkier heel, because I think it will be easier to handle and these have a memory foam cushion on them!
Perhaps I’ve been watching a little too much of Odd Mom Out, but this faux leather skirt totally spoke to me. It reminds of something the main character Jill would wear and I love that it’s a bit edgy.
Is this not the most beautiful top? The nude coloring, the chic black accents. It’s all about the details on this beauty and I think I would get a lot of wear with it.
Fall always means lots of holidays and therefore lots of parties and events to attend. A little black dress is something everyone needs and the sale has a lot of them, but this lace one was a personal favorite.
I will be sharing some more favorites tomorrow! Happy Shopping!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
