The summer after High School graduation I started working at Nordstrom. It became by primary part time job all throughout college. I started out in Kids shoes, then moved over Infants and Toddlers and finished up in Home. Working with customers and learning about Nordstrom’s high customer service standards was a great experience. I always look back at that time fondly and Nordstrom will always have a special place in my heart. One of the most exciting times at Nordstrom is during their Anniversary sale. It’s a special sale they host every July where a curated selection of Fall goodies arrive and are discounted 30% for a two week period. After the two weeks everything is back up to normal prices. So, it’s good to get there early and snag your goodies. Loyal customers actually plan their summer vacations around Anniversary Sale time and recently they started allowing Nordstrom card members early access to the sale, which is going on now!
So, many of my favorite bloggers have been sharing their favorite fashion times and since interiors are more of my speciality I decided to round up some of my favorite home finds.
No.1 Let’s get fizzy champagne glasses: Every bar car needs some cheeky glassware. I love this set which is currently on sale for $25. It would also make for a great holiday gift if you are already thinking of secret Santa gifts.
No.2 Kate Spade Enamel frame: This is the perfect styling piece for a bookcase. Would look so cute in all your selfies! Pop a cute picture of your favorite pet or your kids and you are good to go!
No.3 Fringe Throw Blanket: Love the stripes, love the tassels and love the size. It would look so nice on chair or sofa, but also large enough to cuddle with.
No.4 Monogram Wooden Wine Trough: I love to entertain and I love a good monogram so this piece was win, win. Fill it with ice and wine bottles, champagne or even juice boxes or popsicles for a kids party. You could even use it for flowers! I love the scale and the wood tone. I could use it a million different ways.
No.5 Two toned metallic straw basket: I love using these types of baskets in living rooms to hide kids toys. Chic toy storage at your service! Also work well to stash my magazines, shoes by the front door and blankets.
No.6 Tessera Rug: Love a good colorful Persian style rug. Blue, pink and orange is always a favorite color combo for me. I have used this brand before and it’s really nice quality and wears really well.
No.7 Stripy Ikat Pillow: Love the colors and the different take on the ikat pattern. Plus it’s less than $30 for a 18″ pillow cover and down feather insert.
No.8 Watercolor Floral Accent Pillow: The watercolor nature here really gives it a hand drawn vibe and make the pillow look much more expensive than it really is! Also hello tassels!
No.9 Cupcakes and Cashmere Mixed Stripe Accent pillow: Reminds me of some many of the beautiful vintage textile fabrics from Thailand that I see in many interiors. This is a reproduction available for a steal.
No.10 State Peaks Pillow: Love the mix of global and geometric here. A perfect addition to a sofa pillow assortment.
No.11 Velvet Euro Sham: Love this blush colored dip dyed pillow. A pair of them would dress up any plain jane all white bedding situation.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
