This weekend we happily wandered upon beautiful Heritage Farm & Garden in Muttontown, NY. Typically during the fall season we head out east to one of the many pumpkin picking farms. We always enjoy it, but it’s a 2 hour drive out and then lots of traffic once you get out east and then the long drive back home. Not always enjoyable with little kids that ask us are we there yet after only being in the car minutes. This year we decided to try something new and only 15 mins away and head to the North Shore and try out Heritage Farm and Garden.
The entrance to Heritage Farm & Garden is pretty grand. You get to go down a massive and super long driveaway and then are met with this truck, which is just so pretty! I thought it would be the perfect spot for a great fall family photo.
The whole place is very pleasing to the eye. So many beautiful festive fall displays. This massive tractor and pumpkin display was a crowd pleaser. Lots of people getting on the tractor and taking photos.
There were so many pumpkin and hay displays throughout the farm and garden center. There was also a nice picnic area where you could purchase apples, apple cider (cold or hot) and apple cider donuts!
Along with all of the beautiful displays and pumpkins there was also a special kids area with fall cut outs for photo ops, farm animals like hens, pigs, ducks, goats and a sweet cow that you could feed, a corn maze and a massive area with pumpkin picking, hay bales and fake cows that you could mount.
If you keep exploring the grounds you will end up meeting Max the gorilla. Asher was obsessed.
Before you head out make sure you check out the garden center that is full of holiday items, a variety of planting pots and plants!
There is also a more bespoke shop area full of amazing home decor finds! They had it totally Hygged out with soft lighting, fuzzy pillows, cozy throws, more candles than you could count, plus stylish home decor accessories.
Depending on the days that you go during the fall season they also have face painting and pony rides. Overall we had an amazing time. It was nice to get in a fall activity and be able to it so close to home. I love supporting a local business and Heritage Farm & Garden was newly acquired in 2017 and the branding, design and shopping are top notch. We will be back!
***We had a recent visit to Heritage Farm & Garden and had an amazing time at their Little Seedlings program!***
Little Seedlings is an educational program for your littles where we went to learn about planting and got to get into the action ourselves. The picnic tables were set up with all of our supplies.
They were smart enough to wrap the tables in kraft paper, which was extremely fun for the boys because they got to color all over it while we waited for the other kids to arrive.
Then came the fun part! We were taught all about the different seeds and then given dirt to get our fingers dirty and start the planting process!
We got a mix of marigold, tomatoes, pepper and basil.
At the end of the session we even got a pansy and terra cotta pot as a little surprise! It was really fun. We left with full hands, learned about planting and got the kids out of the house. All for $5 per child! Can’t wait for more events!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
