We are in August and I know that to many that means summer is almost over, but let’s hold on to this month and enjoy it while we can! Let’s also enjoy the steals and deals that are now available since all of the stores are decked out in Halloween and Thanksgiving! One of the items that I love in fashion and for home decor is hand bags! Vintage bags look amazing in bookcases as a styling item. I love using large straw bags in living rooms filled with magazines or a throw. So, I say it’s time to enjoy those sales and get a bag that can do double duty in your home. I rounded some of my favorite budget friendly straw bags
No. 1 Aloha Straw Bag: Love the striped handles and the pom pom addition plus it’s a nice size and only $20!
No. 2 Tassel Beach Tote: This one is a bit smaller and meant to go under the shoulder. Love the scale of the tassels and it’s available in black and blue tassels as well.
No. 3 Colorful Poms Tote: How adorable is this bag! Love all of the poms and this style bag is something I would also use in a living room and fill with magazines, books or even coloring books and crayons for my kids.
No. 4 Woven Netting Bag: I saw a similar version of this bag by a high end designer and while I loved the style I didn’t love the price tag. At $20 this version is great way to test out the trend.
No. 5 Ice cream cone bag: I think this adorable bag would make me quite a hit with the kids! I love it’s whimsy! Plus it would look equally adorable displayed in a bookcase.
No. 6 Straw Boho Tote: Don’t you love all of the colors in this tassel filled bag! Love!
No. 7 Vacay Straw Tote: Similar version to option 1. For the $20 price tag I wouldn’t feel bag picking up both! I think they would make great gifts!
No. 8 Ananda Straw Bag: This is one of my favorites. Love it’s unique shape and that the it has gold accents from the middle down. Again adorable as a bag, but so cute on a desk with office supplies, vanity with jewels or a bookcase as decor.
No. 9 Woven Beach Tote: This is such a nicely made bag. The inside is lined and it’s very roomy it would be perfect as tote that you bring to work and carry your laptop, etc, but also good for the beach with a towel, snacks, drinks, etc.
No. 10 Bucket Bag:
No. 11 Straw Tote with Tassels and Pom Pom: Another beauty that would dress up any summer outfit. Plus if you get tired of the colorful tassels/pom then you can easily remove them.
I could literally find a need okay want for each bag! Different outfits to work with different bag. So many amazing options. Straw bags can be really pricy in the beginning of the season so, I always tend to pick up them when they are finally on sale!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
