I don’t do a ton of indoor decorating for Halloween, but I do make sure to get the front yard/porch area spooky for the boys. Pumpkins, mums, spider webs, oh my! I love decorating the front door as well. In years past I would put up big googly eyes and white crepe paper to make it look like a mummy! This year I was inspired by COCO and all of the beauty and color that comes from Day of the Dead celebrations and I easily put together a DIY Day of the Dead Wreath with the help of these wood skull cut out and some craft paint.
You can let your imagination go wild when painting the wood skull cut out. I went with a white base and then once that dried I added all of the fun colors! The wood skull cut out has little etch marks in the designs which I used as a marker for where to add the color.
It looks cute as is and is a pretty nice size and could probably stand alone on your front door, but I decided to get a little extra with it!
All you need is a little bit of glue to adhere your ribbon to the foam and then simply wrap it around the wreath.
Then just add some glue to the top and bottom of the wood cut and attach to the wreath. Glue pom pom eyes into place.
It makes me super happy!
