I know this won’t be shocking to most of you, but I love to use a color as a neutral. When people hear neutral they always think that they need to stick with white, ivory, cream or even black or brown. I love to use pale versions of all of my favorite colors as neutrals. Pale pink has always been a favorite of mine, but this past year my favorite shade has been peach! I’m a big fan of orange, but I know it’s not for everyone. With peach I get to work in a toned down version of orange and most times it has a touch of pink in it as well, which is another favorite. My favorite peach paint color is
Pink Sea Salt by Behr! I fell in love with it on a paint chip and then once it was on the walls I knew I had made the right decision. It’s warm, happy, stylish and truly works with everything in the space. Yes, I could have left the room white, but why when I could elevate the space with a different color!
Isn’t the peach color just perfection against the cobalt blue headboard! You wouldn’t get the same wow with a white wall.
DESIGNER TIP: When you looking for a non-white neutral take your inspiration from the artwork and textiles in the room. In most cases you will have a variety of colors to work with. Pick one of those colors and go with a pale version of your favorite color from there and voila you have a neutral that you know will go with everything in the room!
While Pink Sea Salt is my favorite peach paint color I did find a couple other peach paint colors that I really enjoyed!
