HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

spring floral arrangement

The first week of Spring was a doozy in NY. We got hit with a snow storm that lasted two days. The first day it seemed pretty lame and I was baffled as to why school had been canceled, but then overnight the snow kept coming and it truly was a winter wonderland in Spring! […]

a round up of elephant home decor finds

You know I have a soft spot for elephants. I tend to talk about them quite a bit and if you have ever been in my home then you know I have them sprinkled throughout the house. I think it’s a pretty discrete collection, but Jon always laughs when I say that, because he thinks […]

It’s the first day of Spring and we are set to have another snow storm tomorrow here in NY! I don’t typically decorate for holidays with Christmas being the exception, but once you have kids […]

copy cat skinny caramel macchiato

Typically I’m a tea drinker, but a couple of years ago I tried a caramel macchiato at Starbucks and I was smitten. I still love tea and drink a cup most days, but lately this tired momma has also been having a coffee as well! Well, I wasn’t exactly making the coffee myself. I was […]

Now a days when it comes to Easter baskets you need to compete with baskets that are the head of your favorite super hero like Batman or some monogrammed version that probably costs more than you want to spend. This year I decided to make my own DIY easter version that will cost less than […]

gray malin party at the parker

I love picking up artwork. Even if I have no idea where it will go my etsy favorites and pinterest boards are filled with artist’s work that I hope to some day own. I know that at times they can be an investment, but to me they are worth it. I always buy something that […]

designersguildfloralwallpaper

Oh guys! Please tell me you are dealing with Daylight savings as well as I am. I woke up at 8am and panicked because Hudson’s bus arrives at 8:10 and he was still asleep. A mad scramble to get everyone up, make breakfast, get the boys dressed, pack lunches and then dash out the door […]

weekend recap

Scenes from my weekend…

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
