Weekend Recap: Come on Irene

Hi All,

I hope you all had an uneventful weekend. Here on the east coast we were hit with Hurricane Irene. At first I was calm about it then started to get really nervous about it due to all of the news coverage. Here in NY we got hit the hardest during the night/early morning so by the time I woke up it was just a bit windy. We didn’t have any floods in my neighborhood, but many trees are down.

This is a street a couple of blocks away from me:

Close up:

{Seeing trees uprooted and sidewalk all broken up was a common sight around the neighborhood.}

Due to all of that I’m out of power at my house. Thankfully my parents live near by and they have power so I’ll be working from there until my power comes back.

Who knows when that will be. Take a look at a map of the island and the towns affected:

Red equals no bueno! Oh no! I’m thankful though because many other places got affected much worse. I can deal with no power. Hope everyone is okay out there!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a design related post.
