Everyone loves a good silhouette. Here is a quick tutorial on how to do a quick painted silhouette that looks like a million bucks.
My sister in law has been itching for a silhouette painting and since her birthday was last week and I decided to put her profile to work and make my own painted silhouette! It was a very simple and easy project.
Here is what you’ll need:
{Card stock paper, paint brush, acrylic paint, pencil and picture of profile.}
Just print your profile out on an 8 x 11 piece of paper. Cut it out and then use it to trace the profile on the card stock.
Once the profile is traced get out your paint brush and start painting away.
It will take a couple of coats to a nice deep color. Don’t worry about the brush strokes they add character.
Let it dry and then simply add the name and tag line in pencil. I actually cut the painted silhouette out and then applied on a new piece of cardstock to give it a little bit of dimension.
{ Tagline: Treats herself to a present every payday. }
I wanted to add a little something, something to the piece and knew right away that covering the mat in fabric would be the way to do it. I always see animal print as a neutral so I grabbed some from my fabric closet and these easy to follow steps.
She loved it! I can’t wait to try it out again. Really easy to do and the present was extra special because it was hand made by me.

I love this idea so much. I am going to copy this idea for my SIL and do one of each of her boys. She is the type of person who would just love a gift like this. Thanks for all your cute ideas…..
I love it so much it’s already hanging right next to my closet so I can see it everyday! Thank you again!!
Love, Jenn
