HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

Final trend that was everywhere was accent chairs with two different types of fabric. Normally with a solid pattern on the seat section and then a pattern fabric on the back. Not sure exactly how new the companies thought this trend was since I’ve already seen this done a lot in retail stores, but it […]

Trends: Baby got back

Today I will be wrapping up my High Point market trend round up. I hope you all enjoyed a peek into the experience. It was a great trip. I didn’t realize how much gain from the trip till I actually got there. It was wonderful to talk with others in the field, see close friends […]

Trends: Supersize Me!

I always nod my head in agreement whenever I see Michelle Adams and Ellie Sommerville’s market picks. I either fall in love immediately with their picks and they become my new obsessions or I realize it’s something I’ve already been lusting after and want to run out and send them cupcakes and tell them we […]

Market Picks from Trad Home

I’m not done with my High Point trends posts, but with the launch of Trad Home I had to take a little break to showcase some of my favorite parts: I always love seeing different designers take on the same item, so this chair feature was a favorite of mine: {That rug had me at […]

Another trend that I enjoyed seeing at market was a move towards the feminine side of design. While there was an amount of dark muted colors and the industrial chic look that tends to lean towards the more masculine side of design at this show it was in the minority. I also so happy to […]

Trend: Feminine Touches

I think all DIY lovers would be happy to know that all throughout market I kept seeing accent chairs in a bold pattern with painted frames! I know when I’m revamping a vintage piece I always start with painting my frame a pop of color. Many times people can get upset that you are painting […]

Trend: Painted Frames

The one trend that I kept seeing time and time again at market was Suzani. I’m a huge fan of Suzani fabric so I love that the trend is still going strong. What I loved the most about it is that instead of just seeing it with ethnic/eclectic rooms I saw it in more bright […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
