Baby Talk: The Ellies have arrived

As you all know I have a slight obsession with elephants. They are sprinkled all throughout my house so of course I needed a couple for the nursery.

During a search on etsy I found this amazing elephant crochet pattern:

I had high hopes for making one of them myself, but after purchasing the pattern I became a bit overwhelmed. With work, blogging and just being pregnant I didn’t think I had the time or patience to try and figure this one out. Plus my desire for just one elephant turned into an obsession of having a family of 3.

So what’s a girl to do? Plead with the shops etsy owner and see if I could get to custom make them for me. April was sweet as anything and said yes right away and even offered to do different colors on the banners with contrasting trim and making the baby elephant smaller than the plan originally called for.

Victory! She sent me a picture of the finished products last week, which I shared on facebook. (Make sure to like us if you want sneak peeks and little extras that don’t make it on the blog.)

Yesterday they arrived and I’m even more in love!

So sweet. They are stunning and I adore them. I immediately told Jon I was never going to let the baby actually play with them. Seriously though with their eyeballs I thought it was best to save them as toys for when he is older, but for the time being they will just look pretty in his nursery.
