This week I’m so happy to participate in this seasons’, It’s a Colorful Life tour hosted by Jennifer from Dimples & Tangles and Jewel from Jeweled Interiors. We all thought everyone could use a dose of happiness, inspiration and good old regular blog content! Now my housing situation is a bit unique at the moment. Many of you know that I’m currently crashing at my parents’ house. It all started when we sold our house and didn’t have a new one to move into. We thought we would be here a couple of months maybe a year. It turned into 2 years until we found our house. Now we have the new house, but it was a complete gut job so, we are still in the renovation process! Therefore my colorful spring HOME tour is a bit unique! I’m going to sharing some parts of my parents’ house that I have put my own spin on!
A couple of years ago I changed my childhood bedroom into a guest room. Before I moved back in I lived nearby, but my younger sisters lived in the city so, when they come over they tend to spend the night. The guest room has gotten a lot of action, but I needed to carve out a little space for myself in it for my home office.
When we lived in our old house I had a home office, but when we decided to crash with my parents I got the studio space to have a place for client meetings and all of the things! When we purchased the new house it just didn’t make sense to have an extra payment going towards a studio so voila my home office while our new house gets finished!
There is still a bed in the space for guests. This bed was an old thrift store find that was originally a pale yellow with handpainted flowers on it. We painted it a dark orange and then added grasscloth wallpaper into the inserts. It has held up perfectly for over 10 years! The bedding gets switched up occasionally, but it’s pretty much always in something from Crane & Canopy!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I am so in love with your sample organizer! I might need to do this someday!
Beautiful colors! I especially love what you did in that bathroom. You’re a great inspiration, Camila.
Only you could make a home office so incredibly colorful, inviting and happy! Love it all though too!
Hi. Love it all! I was wondering if you could give me information regarding the blue floral wallpaper in the bottom right hand side of your clipboard display. Thank you!
I think you are referring to Honsue by Thibaut. It needs to be ordered via a designer. Happy to order it for you if you want some.
